Hitachi Energy expands production capacity in Westmoreland County.
PITTSBURGH, PA (April 11, 2025) – A leader in power grid technology, Hitachi Energy recently announced the expansion of its production capacity in Westmoreland County, PA, to create state-of-the-art high voltage products.
Here’s what you need to know:
Expansion bolstered by government support: The project is part of a more than $329,000 investment by the commonwealth through Pennsylvania First and WEDnetPA training grants.
A $70 million expansion for three of its facilities in the county: This planned expansion will create more than 100 new jobs and retain an additional 299 jobs statewide.
PA is the place where manufacturing and energy converge: Hitachi is a leader in high-voltage technologies like switchgears, circuit breakers, generator circuit breakers, power quality products, and much more.
